The "Real" Dirt on Farming -
The People in Canadian Agriculture Answer Your Questions
April, 2006 - Anyone who
is interested in where their food comes from and the facts on farming in Canada
can find it in a new document released today. ”The ‘Real’ Dirt on Farming –
The People in Canadian Agriculture Answer your Questions” resource booklet,
has been published by the Ontario Farm Animal Council (OFAC). Students, educators, politicians and the media
who want to know more about the issues in agriculture, such as farm animal care
or food safety will all find this 36 page full-colour booklet to be a helpful
resource.
This new document was designed to update OFAC’s original Food
for Thought publication and includes current information about Canadian
agriculture, its traditions, changing trends and ideas for the future.
The project’s various funding partners include many national and
provincial agricultural organizations as well as Agriculture and Agri-Food
Canada through the Agricultural Adaptation Council’s CanAdvance Program.
The
resource is also available on OFAC’s websites at
www.ofac.org and
www.farmissues.com. Copies will be sold at a cost of $2 per copy through
the OFAC office.
